In the cave of love you spy
your darling(s) joined in muscular arcs
and shedding your nerves a tentative hand
(yours) meets such taut expanse.
This angel with two heads draws
you down toward the center of his dream
into hills of crisp fur, with firm hot prods
down, down to a steaming, pulsing swamp.
Diving into the marvelous clear water
just below the surface your bones dissolve
and you become a fluid idea bubbling at the core with light.
You are the element in which you swim.
There are hands where your ankles were
and now there are ankles
and someone is pulling
and there are arms around you.
Your head breaks water, all ears
to this night of voluptuous sighs.
